NASC's pre-professional team is joining USL League Two (USL2) for the 2023 season. USL2 is the leader in pre-professional soccer in North America.
NASC will compete in the South Central Division of the Southern Conference for the the 2023 season. Opponents include:
The USL2 team is NASC's senior men's team for our Player Development Pathway. The USL2 provides players with a pathway to the highest level of pre-professional soccer available in North Alabama allowing them to train and compete against current and former college players, former professionals, and rising elite youth players.
The 2023 USL2 season is May to mid-July with the playoffs being held in late July followed by the league championship the first week of August.
Schedule and details regarding season tickets will be communicated in February 2023.

Our 2nd Open tryouts for our USL2 team will be held March 11, 2023. Below are the details:
March 11, 2023
Early Registration $60 ($30 for players that attended the January Clinic): Ends March 1st at 8:00 PM CT
Late Registration $100: March 1st from 8:00 PM CT to March 7th at 8:00 PM CT
No day-of/walk-up registrations will be accepted.
Players will receive a dri-fit style NASC tryout t-shirt. Only guaranteed for players registered by March 1st and didn't attend the January tryout. .
Tryouts are OPEN to ALL male amateur players ages 16 and up. Players from ALL clubs - regardless of affiliation - are encouraged and welcome attend.
Player must turn 16 on or before April 30, 2023 to be eligible to play in 2023.
Current/active high school and college players are eligible for the USL2 team. High school and NCAA eligibility is not affected by playing in USL2. Note - If you are currently playing collegiate or high school soccer, please be sure to inform your coach that you are trying out and consult your school's compliance office with any eligibility questions. The rules may vary between collegiate divisions and by state for high schools.
Open Tryouts will be held at the Merrimack Soccer Complex Turf Fields located at 3217 Ivy Ave SW, Huntsville, AL 35805.

Please arrive at least 30-45 minutes early to complete player check-in and receive your tryout number.
Players will be provided a tryout t-shirt and number. Players should appropriate soccer attire (cleats, shorts, soccer socks, shin guards) and dress appropriately for the weather.
Players will be provided with two (2) complimentary bottles of water for each session. Players should bring any additional water or sports drinks they may need.

USL League Two is the leader in pre-professional soccer in North America. League Two is more than the leading national pre-professional league. League Two is the defined and proven pathway for players to progress to the ranks of professional soccer, while its clubs become fixtures in the communities where they operate.
USL2 is a qualifying league for the U.S. Open Cup. The U.S. Open Cup is an annual national single elimination soccer tournament that allows pro to amateur clubs across the U.S. Soccer pyramid to play one another. The tournament includes the MLS, USL Championship, USL League One, NISA and other pro clubs and pre-pro/amateur teams in USL League Two, NPSL, and other pre-pro clubs.
